Laura Ramírez-Drain is a Mexican American multidisciplinary artist based in Northern Virginia, working in fused glass, mosaic, acrylic, and mixed media. Her work explores color, emotion, and storytelling through movement and texture, often inspired by expressive masters like Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo. Each piece reflects her love for vibrant color, light, and human connection.
Although her artistic journey began in recent years, Laura has quickly become an active and recognized presence in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC arts community. Her work has been exhibited in multiple galleries and cultural spaces, where she continues to share her evolving artistic voice.
In addition to her creative practice, Laura plays a leadership role in the arts. She serves as Treasurer of the League of Reston Artists and Administrator of Nova Fine Arts, where she supports organizational growth, community engagement, and opportunities for fellow artist
Laura’s inspiration comes from nature, travel, and meaningful life experiences. She is especially drawn to fused glass, where heat and color transform into unique, unrepeatable forms—much like life itself.
Through her work, Laura invites viewers to pause, feel and reconnect the present moment.
